Description : It consists of two parts:
the designs for the software system using two methodologies – functional and object-oriented
a comparative and critical evaluation of your experience in designing the system using the functional and object oriented design methods
For the first part of the assignment you need to design the software system. Two separate designs are needed, one using top-down, functional methods and one using object oriented. High level details must be included for each of the two designs, and Component level details should be provided for two non-trivial functions in the functional design. A non-trivial function is one that will control a part of the system i.e. a sub-system comprising a number of subordinate functions or have some complex calculation or processing to perform.
|
Deliverables : The design documentation must include the following:
High level design details for each of your two designs (structure chart and object-oriented), and Component level details corresponding to two (non-trivial) functions in the structure chart, one using PDL / pseudo code, and the other using a flowchart.
Do not produce component level details for more than two functions from your structure chart.
Please beware of spending more time on the appearance rather than the content of the designs
Your comparative, critical evaluation of the two designs.
Maximum number of words – 250.
Only your designs are required - you do NOT need to implement the system.
